What this site stores about you
To run the self-tests, this site stores your name, your university email address and a scrambled (hashed) form of your password — never the password itself. Each time you answer a question it records which question it was, the points you scored and when you submitted, along with the times you sign in and any problem reports you send. Your written answers themselves are not kept: once an answer has been marked, only the score remains.
That record is held in a database hosted in Dublin, Ireland (EU), and is copied once a night into a private Google Sheet in the lecturer's Google account, which serves as the backup. Only the course lecturer can see either copy; the data is not shared with ZHAW systems or with anyone else.
It is used to show you your own progress and to let the lecturer see which questions the cohort finds difficult. Your scores are practice: they are not part of any grade for this course.
You can ask for your account and every record belonging to it to be deleted at any time, by writing to bene.zoller@gmail.com.
AI-Assisted Grading Notice
Written answers submitted to non-numerical exercises on this site are graded using "deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-0731", a third-party artificial intelligence model accessed through OpenRouter. As part of this grading process, parts of your submitted answer may be transmitted to, and processed on, servers located outside Switzerland and outside the European Union / European Economic Area.
The provider of that model does not store your submitted data beyond what is required to process the grading request, and does not use your submissions to train or improve any AI model.
Notwithstanding the above, you are strongly advised not to enter any personal data — including but not limited to names, contact details, student numbers, or other identifying information — into an answer field. Answers should be limited to the academic content of the exercise.
