Benedikt Zoller-Rydzek

I am Head of the Global Business Lab at the International Management Institute of the ZHAW School of Management and Law. I hold a PhD in Economics (Dr. sc.) from ETH Zurich, a Master in Quantitative Economics from the University of Alicante, and a Diplom in Economics from the University of Mannheim.

My research lies at the intersection of international economics and international business, with a quantitative, firm-level focus. Using microdata, causal inference, and increasingly AI/ML and text-based analytics, I study how firms make location, investment, and organizational decisions — and how these choices shape performance. A core interest is how geopolitical risk (trade conflicts, sanctions, fragmentation) alters firm behavior, and how digital transformation and data-driven decision-making affect resilience and competitiveness in global markets.
